Dr. Amin Mirghani El Tahir Consultant Vascular Surgeon Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Dr. Amin Mirghani El Tahir is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at SKMC Abu Dhabi, specializing in the treatment and prevention of different vascular health problems. Dr. Tahir completed his surgical training in 1995 (FRCS) at the Glasgow Royal College of Surgeons, UK. He subsequently joined professorial unit in Aberdeen in Scotland for clinical research in Sepsis, immunology and nutrition, which concluded in 2003. From 1998 to 2004 Dr. Tahir joined The Specialist Registrar Training Program at the Northern Deanery, UK, specializing in Vascular, Endovascular and General Surgery. His Certificate of Completion of Surgical Training (CCST) and FRCS (Gen. Surg. Glasg.) was gained at the end of training in 2003. Dr. Tahir practiced as Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Royal Derby Hospital from 2004 to 2012, when he joined SKMC as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon. In this time, he also managed and chaired the Clinical Governance, the Surgical Division Audit and Clinical Guidelines Committees at the Royal Derby Hospital. His interests include management of Diabetic foot, endovascular and surgical arterial reconstruction, Carotid Surgery as a mean for stroke prevention, Endovascular and open Abdominal Aortic aneurysm repair, varicose veins treatment, leg ulcer treatment and vascular access for haemodialysis.
