Abu Dhabi Won the Bid for WUWHS 2020

The mission of the WUWHS is to co-ordinate a world-wide exchange of information between wound societies and other relevant bodies, including international and global agencies - as well as promoting personal-level friendship exchanges.

Gulnaz States; The vision of the IIWCG and the WUWHS is to enhance wound healing and optimize the patient centered care through education of everyone everywhere. Hosting the event in Abu Dhabi in 2022 will help change the landscape of wound care in the region. It will allow us to establish and take a leading role in bringing evidence based practice and research to professionals here and worldwide.

Linda Haskins States; It started many moons ago when I saw the passion of wound care management in someone that I have not even realized exists in Al Jaziera Hospital at that time. This passion has truly inspired and encouraged me me not just to provide her the opportunity to become a wound care nurse but allowed her to push this passion to ultimate boundaries, and hence the final outcome of this is evident in our President WUWHS  Gulnaz Tariq.

WUWHS 2022 was truly the most exhilarating opportunity for healthcare professionals in the region to demonstrate what they are doing to improve our patients living with very complexed wounds and often limited resource and still change the services for the patient, the community and the country. It is going to place Abu Dhabi and UAE on the map demonstrating healthcare leadership and display the evidence based work of our wound care guru's (experts) is a force to be reckoned with. (Linda Haskins Assistant Director of NursingSKMC).

International responsibilities

The IIWCG is dedicated to using the best available evidence to enhance wound management and prevention. In order to ensure that we are able to do this in UAE, we connect with the international wound care community, and participate in education, as well as supporting the efforts of International expertise and knowledge to improve the care of people suffering from wounds.

As part of our responsibilities,

the IIWCG directly supports the efforts of the:
